12. Ngọn đuốc Trí Huệ và Pháp Luân

Abstract

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Ngọn đuốc <em>Trí Huệ</em> và <em>Pháp Luân</em></strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Biểu tượng kiến trúc Ngọn đuốc <em>Trí Huệ</em> (hay <em>Bát-nhã</em> – tượng trưng cho sự <em>Giác ngộ</em>) và <em>Pháp Luân</em> (Bánh xe Pháp – tượng trưng cho Giáo pháp của Đức Phật). Biểu tượng <em>Pháp Luân</em> thường được vẽ thành hình tròn với 4, 6, 8, hoặc 12 nan hoa, tượng trưng cho các giáo lý quan trọng của Phật pháp, gồm <em>Tứ Diệu Đế, Lục Đạo Luân Hồi, Bát Chánh Đạo, và Duyên Khởi – Thập Nhị Nhân Duyên</em>. Đây là quà tặng của sinh viên Trường Đại học Sư phạm – Viện Đại học Huế cho Viện Đại học Đà Lạt.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Ngày nay, khuôn viên xung quanh Ngọn đuốc <em>Trí Huệ</em> và <em>Pháp Luân</em> được cải tạo, chỉnh trang, vừa trầm mặc, uy nghiêm, vừa hòa điệu với thiên nhiên và trở thành điểm nhấn trong không gian kiến trúc trên triền đồi nhìn xuống <em>Thung lũng Mai Anh Đào</em>. Biểu tượng Ngọn đuốc <em>Trí Huệ</em> được khai thác và đưa vào bộ nhận diện thương hiệu của Trường với hàm ý rằng Trường Đại học Đà Lạt là nơi thắp lên ngọn lửa đam mê trau dồi kiến thức và nghiên cứu khoa học, góp phần mở rộng biên thùy tri thức của người học về thế giới và soi sáng con đường thụ đắc chân lý của họ.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">-----------------------------------</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Torch of <em>Prajñā</em> with a <em>Dharmachakra</em></strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">The Torch of Wisdom (or Torch of <em>Prajñā</em> – representing <em>Bodhi</em> in the context of Buddhism, which is commonly translated as “enlightenment”), with a <em>Dharmachakra</em> (or Wheel of Dharma – widely used to represent the Buddha’s dharma). The <em>Dharmachakra </em>symbol is also sometimes connected to key doctrines in Buddhism, including <em>Caturāryasatyāni</em> (the Four Noble Truths), <em>Kāmadhātu</em> (the Desire Realm, also known as the “Six Paths of Suffering”), <em>Āryāṣṭāṅgamārga</em> (the Noble Eightfold Path), and <em>Pratītyasamutpāda</em> (commonly translated as “dependent origination” or “dependent arising”, which refers to the Twelve <em>Nidānas</em>, also called the “Twelve Links of Dependent Origination”). This structure was a gift to the University of Dalat by pedagogical students of the University of Hue.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Nowadays, the area surrounding the Torch of <em>Prajñā</em> and <em>Dharmachakra</em> has been renovated and meticulously refurbished, exuding a solemn and dignified ambiance while seamlessly blending with the natural environment. It has been transformed into a focal point within the architectural landscape on the hillside overlooking the <em>Mai Anh Dao Valley </em>(Cherry Blossom Valley). The Torch of <em>Prajñā</em> symbol is adopted as a part of the university’s brand, with the implication that Dalat University is a place that lights up the fire of passion for cultivating knowledge and academic research, expanding the boundaries of learners’ knowledge about the world and illuminating their path to acquiring the truth.</p>
